The Customer Registry is a key feature in Moder that brings together all customer-related information in one place. It stores traveler details, their booking history, including dates and booking values. With the registry, you’ll always know who visited, when, and what they paid.

Companies and Private Customers

Moder’s Customer Registry is divided into two sections: Company Customers and Private Customers.

Customers: When you create a booking (e.g. via MultiBook) and enter the guest’s details, Moder automatically saves them to the customer registry.

Companies: For business clients, you can create a dedicated company profile, where you can add key details such as company info, banking details, and invoicing preferences.

Browsing the Customers Section

What Can I See in the Customers Section?

The Customers section gathers all your customer data in one place. You can browse, filter, and search your customers.

The list displays both past and upcoming bookings along with the travelers who made them.

Key Features:

  • Search: By customer name or contact information
  • Filters: Narrow down the list by language, country, or marketing consent
  • Customer Key Info: View the customer’s name, company, country, language, number of bookings, and total customer value
  • Star Icon ⭐: Indicates that the customer has multiple bookings

Moder Tip! You can export the customer list as a PDF or Excel file directly from the Reports section. More on that in the reporting module!

Entering Customer Information

How Do I Enter Customer Data?

Entering customer information is simple: just create a booking and fill in the guest’s details. The customer profile is then automatically created in the Customer Registry.

The unique identifier is the traveler’s email address. Moder uses the email to recognize returning guests and link all related bookings to the same customer.

Moder Tip! Always enter an email address when creating a booking. If the field is left blank, the customer data will not be linked to the registry.

What Information Is Stored in the Customer Registry?

The Customer Registry stores:

  • The guest’s contact information
  • Bookings linked to the customer (automatically)
  • The guest’s preferred language

⚠️Why It's Worth Filling in Detailed Information

  • Email is the unique identifier for each customer
  • Phone number is used, for example, for SMS messages. Always enter it in international format to ensure successful delivery
  • Language guides customer communication:
    • If the language is set to Finnish, the GuestApp, booking confirmation, customer messages, and invoices will be shown in Finnish by default

Editing Customer Information

Customer data can be viewed and edited simply by clicking the customer’s name in the Customers section.

Key Features

Edit customer information

View the customer’s upcoming bookings

Notes field: Use this to store information about customer preferences, special requests, or anything else relevant to customer care

Grant or revoke marketing permission

Create a new booking for the customer

Viewing and Editing the Customer Profile

Step-by-step:

  1. Click the customer’s name to access
  2. Edit their profile.

From this view, you can also see upcoming bookings and create new ones for the customer.

Moder Tip! When creating a new booking (via MultiBook or the calendar), you can search and retrieve the customer’s information directly from the registry using the search field. This allows you to create bookings quickly and efficiently.

In the example below you'll also see how information from the Notes field appears in the booking preview.

Company Profiles

Company profiles are created in their own dedicated view, where all business customers are listed and can be edited as needed.

These profiles are used in various parts of Moder — including group bookings, linking allotments, and in the future, custom pricing.

From this view, you can:

  • Search for company customers by contact information
  • Filter the list by customer type (e.g. Travel Agency or Company)

Creating a Company Profile

To create a company profile, go to the Companies section and click “+ Create Company”.

Company Profile Information

  • Company name and business ID
  • Comment field: This flexible notes field can be used to add important context to the company profile — such as special payment terms, invoicing details, or preferred communication methods
  • Is the company a travel agency?
    • This field can be used for filtering and will be useful for future reporting features
  • Invoicing details:
    • These details are used when creating invoices for the company, especially via the group booking functionality
