This support article covers the Moder webshop settings.
You can find Moder’s basic settings in the article titled Settings.

Setting up and configuring your webshop
Property
In the Property section, you can define your company’s properties. A property can be a physical site or a separate webshop, such as an activity webshop operating as an independent sales channel.
You can create one or multiple properties to suit your business needs. The only limitation is that all properties built with Moder must share the same business ID and payment service account. If properties or business segments are managed under different business IDs, each will need its own Moder account.
Basic information
Start by creating a new property by clicking the Create button in the top right corner. You can edit property details anytime by clicking the property's name.
You might already have a property created, which you can edit by clicking the purple property name button.
First, add your property's name and Moder web address.
The name will appear on the homepage of your webshop. The Moder web address is the suffix of your webshop URL and can be changed if needed.
In this example, the name of the property is Mountain Top Lodge, and the webshop URL is app.moder.fi/mountain-top-lodge
If the Moder web address suffix is changed after the widget (embed code) has been generated, the widget will need to be re-generated. If you plan to make changes to this address, it's best to do so before generating the widget.
Descriptions
In the Descriptions section, you can add a written description for your accommodation, which will appear below the property name in the webshop. You can also provide translations for the description in different languages to serve a broader customer base.
- Click Add Language
- Select the desired language from the drop down menu
- Write your description
- Repeat for all the languages you want
Main image
In the Main image section, you can upload a primary image for your property, which will appear as the background behind the property name in the webshop. If no main image is added, the default background image from Moder will automatically be displayed.
Logo
You can also add a logo for your location, which will appear on the webshop's homepage in the upper left corner of the main image.
It’s recommended to upload the logo in PNG or SVG format.
Color
In the Color section, you can select an accent color, which will appear on the buttons in your webshop.
Below, you’ll see the color options available in Moder.
Select a color from the drop down menu and click Save.
And just like that, the new color will instantly appear on the homepage of your webshop!
Publishing the webshop
When you check the box "Is published", the property will be visible in the webshop. If this box is left unchecked, the property won’t appear at the webshop URL, and users will see an error message saying the page cannot be found.
Analytics
In Moder webshop, you can manage customer navigation post-purchase and track customer purchasing behavior using Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
Redirect URL
With the Redirect setting, you can determine where the customer lands after completing a booking. By default, there’s a link at the top of the booking confirmation that returns the customer to your Moder webshop.
However, if you’d prefer the customer to be directed to your website or a custom welcome page, you can set that up here.
How to do it
In the Link/redirect URL field, enter the URL of the page where you’d like to direct the customer.
In the Link text field, write the text you want the customer to see.
Confirmation emails
In the Confirmation emails section, you can add all the email addresses where you want to automatically receive booking confirmations for new reservations.
There is no limit to the number of email addresses, so you can add as many as you like (please separate the email addresses with line breaks).
By default, Moder only sends confirmation emails for reservations made directly through Moder.
If you also want confirmation emails for bookings made via external sales channels, remember to check the option “Send confirmation email also for reservations received from external sales channels.”
Please note that the email copy of the booking confirmation you receive does not include the customer’s GuestApp link. The GuestApp link is only included in the booking confirmation sent to the customer.
The language of the confirmation email copy you receive depends on the company’s default language set in Settings → Localization. The language of the confirmation email the traveler receives depends on the booking language: for example, if the booking was made in the Finnish version of the Moder online store, the traveler will receive a Finnish confirmation. If it was made in the English version, they will receive an English confirmation, and so on.
Also note that booking confirmations are not sent automatically for reservations made manually in the backend. In those cases, you need to send the confirmation manually if required.
Localisation
On the localisation page, you can configure four important features for your webshop and backend system:
- Languages available in your webshop
- Default language for booking confirmation emails
- This is the language used in booking confirmations if no language is specified in the booking.
- It is also the language in which you receive all booking notification emails whenever someone makes a new booking through the webshop. The booking notification email is a copy of the booking confirmation email sent to the customer.
- Currency used for pricing
- Time zone where your business is located
Filters
On the filters page, you manage additional filters for your Moder webshop.
The webshop automatically includes certain filters, such as accommodation type, beds, bedrooms, and specific popular filters.
You can add filters important to your business, such as different geographical areas where your properties are located. This allows customers to use area search as a filter in the webshop when looking for accommodations.
Terms of booking
Here you can upload your property’s booking terms and conditions. The booking terms can be uploaded in different languages. They must be provided in PDF format, and accepting them is a mandatory step in the Moder online store booking process.
To upload the terms, first select the language from the dropdown menu, then click “Choose File” and finally click “Upload.”
When finalizing their booking, the traveler can read the terms and conditions by opening them through the link shown in the image below.
Widget
From the Widgets section, you can create a booking bar widget for your location or for an individual property, which you can embed on your website for reservations.
To create the widget, choose the property for which the widget will be created. Select “no room type” if you want all your room types to be available for booking in the online store. Then choose the widget language. Select “automatic” if your online store has multiple language versions. In this case, the online store will automatically detect the language based on the traveler’s browser settings. If the traveler’s language version is not available in your online store, Moder will automatically redirect them to the English site.
Finally, ask your website administrator to embed the widget on your website.
Below is an example of how the booking bar widget looks on a website. After selecting the dates and number of guests, pressing the search button will take the traveler to your company’s Moder page (app.moderi.fi/[location web address]).
