General questions

  • Where can I find Moder support articles and videos?

You can find all English articles and videos from support.moder.fi. Note that you do not need to log in to this page to be able to view the articles.
  • Can I use Moder with mobile phone?

Yes, Moder is mobile friendly and you can use it with mobile phone, tablet etc. Please note that there is no Moder app: you simply log in from your device to Moder at https://app.moder.fi/login.

  • Which browsers does Moder support?

Moder is fully supported with Google Chrome and Firefox. Using any other browser (e.g. Safari) can cause lead to some sections of Moder not functioning properly. We highly recommend that you use Moder with Google Chrome.

  • How do I log in to Moder?

You can log in to Moder at https://app.moder.fi/login. For further instructions, please see here. Please note that if it is your first time logging in to Moder, you need to set up your password by using "Did you forget your password?" feature.

Settings

  • You can find the widget/embed code by going to Settings ---> Widgets. The widget is demonstrated in further details in this video. If you cannot embed the widget, you can also utilize the URL address of your webshop and embed it as "Book here" button (or similar). You can find the URL address of your web shop by going to Settings ---> Properties ---> Click "Webshop".

  • How can I add my booking terms & conditions to Moder?

You can add booking terms in different languages by going to Settings ---> Terms of booking. Choose first the language, then upload the terms in PDF format, click "Upload". Uploading booking terms is also demonstrated in this video. If you don't have yet booking terms set up, you can ask us to send you a basic template in English.

  • How do I activate Stripe to my Moder webshop?

Go to Settings ---> Integrations ---> Payment tab (the first tab). You can activate Stripe form the slide button, remember to click also "Save Stripe" at the bottom of the page after that. If Stripe ID is missing, please contact your onboarder or our customer support and ask us to add it first.

Room prices

  • Can I set up different prices for external sales channels than what I have on my own webshop?

Yes, you can set up price rules that concern only external channels. This way, you can either increase or decrease prices that are send to external channels from Moder. Please note that all price rules work with per cents.

  • When I check Room prices section in Moder, I see a warning sign with the text "NO ACTIVE RATE" on some room categories. What does this mean?

This means that you don't have an active rate for that room category for today. You can open each room category's room prices by clicking the little arrow on the right side, and check if you have rates set up for the desired time period.

  • When I check Room prices section in Moder, I see a warning sign with the text "EXPIRING SOON" on some room categories. What does this mean?

Moder simply warns you that your room rates are about to expire. This text will appear already six months before the prices are about to expire. You can open each room category's room prices by clicking the little arrow on the right side, and check if you have rates set up for the desired time period.

Managing bookings

  • How do I create a new booking to Moder from back-end?

New booking creation is demonstrated in this video.

  • How can I send a booking confirmation from Moder?

Open the booking edit modal (click on the booking to get the preview open, then click "Edit"). Click on the language in which you would like to send the confirmation. Please note that the booking confirmation is already built into Moder, you don't need to create a booking confirmation template yourself.

  • How can I modify the dates on an existing booking?

Changing dates and editing the booking has been demonstrated in greater depth in this tutorial video.

Invoicing and managing payments

  • A booking was cancelled and I need to refund money to the guest. How can I do this?

If the guest paid using Stripe (or Paytrail), you can only refund the money back from your Stripe user account (or Paytrail merchant portal if you are using Paytrail). At this moment, you cannot initiate refunds from Moder.

  • How can I create a credit note/credit invoice in Moder?

Click open the invoice you'd like to credit. Click on the "Create credit invoice" button on the top right corner of the invoice. You can edit the credit invoice before saving it if you need to (if, for example, you only need to create a partial credit note). Please note that creating a credit note/credit invoice does not initiate any refund back to the guest. If you need to refund money to the guest, please see the previous question on this article for further help.
