Beds24 error messages and instructions

Moder currently uses Beds24 as a channel management tool for external sales channels such as Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, and others. If one of these connected external channels encounters an issue, it sends an error message to Beds24, which then forwards the message to the email address linked to that specific property.


Some of these error or warning messages require Moder Support’s help, but many can be resolved directly by the user in the connected sales channel’s dashboard.


Below you’ll find a list of the most common Beds24 error messages, their meaning, and how to fix them.

How to read Beds24 Error Messages


Each error message title tells you which sales channel the message came from.


The key part of the message is always between these two lines:

The text between them describes the root cause of the issue.

Booking.com: Common error messages

Problem:

The maximum occupancy set for the room in Moder/Beds24 does not match the one in Booking.com Extranet. Example: Moder/Beds24 says 8, but Booking.com Extranet says 7.


Solution:

Correct the max occupancy value in Booking.com Extranet. If the value is wrong in Moder/Beds24, correct it in Moder and contact Moder Support so we can sync it correctly to Beds24.

Problem:

The room type is not active on Booking.com - it’s currently not for sale.


Solution:

Check your Booking.com Extranet to see why the room type is inactive. If needed, contact Booking.com Support for assistance.



Airbnb: Common error messages


Airbnb account is not connected


Example message:

Airbnb account is not connected, please connect account

Problem:

The Airbnb connection for the property has been lost or disconnected — possibly due to a temporary issue between Beds24 and Airbnb.


Solution:

Forward the error message to support@moder.fi, and we’ll check and reconnect the Airbnb link if needed.



Pet fee can’t be transferred because pets haven’t been allowed


Example message:

allows_pets_as_host in booking settings should be enabled before setting PASS_THROUGH_PET_FEE.

Problem:

A pet fee has been added for a room in Airbnb via Beds24, but the room type doesn’t allow pets in Airbnb settings.


Solution: 

If you want to allow pets, log in to Airbnb and update the listing’s settings to enable pets. If pets should not be allowed, contact Moder Support, and we’ll remove the pet fee from that room type in Airbnb.


Too many requests


Example message:

Problem:

A temporary connection issue between Airbnb and Beds24.


Solution:

If this message repeats continuously, contact Moder Support — we’ll investigate it with Beds24. If it appeared only once, no action is needed.



Expedia: Common error messages


Sell Rates are expected for Agency or Flex rate plans


Example message:

Problem:

The property’s acquisition type is incorrect in the Beds24 account settings. It should be Sell for this property type.


Solution:

Forward the error message to support@moder.fi and ask us to update the acquisition type on your Beds24 account.


Sell Rates are not expected for Merchant or Net Rate hotels

Problem:

The property’s acquisition type is incorrect in the Beds24 account settings. It should be Net or Set by Rate Plan ID, not Sell.


Solution:

Forward the error message to support@moder.fi, and we’ll update the acquisition type to the correct setting in Beds24.
