Key updates:
1. Requested feature, marginal schema, has been added to Moder!
Many travel companies sell packages that include subcontracted services. In these cases, margin taxation may become relevant.
What is marginal schema (marginal tax)?
Marginal schema is applied when a tour operator sells purchased services in their own name to travelers, particularly when combining transportation, accommodation, and other services. The marginal schema is calculated based on the difference between the selling price and the purchase price, i.e., the profit margin.
This procedure does not apply to self-produced services or services purchased from non-business entities.

Marginal schema in Moder
With Moder, you can manage margin taxation directly from the product settings. When adding subcontracted services or products, you can activate margin taxation simply
Products
For margin taxation, the product settings define the purchase price. If necessary, you can specify the purchase price separately for children and adults, for example.
Receipt and Invoice
When a product is marked as subject to marginal schema, the receipt and invoice display the legally required annotations. This allows your customers to clearly see which products are margin-taxed and how VAT is distributed.
Reports
Products subject to marginal schema are displayed as separate sections in Moder's reports. The reports also include VAT summary details to assist with sales monitoring and accounting.
VAT Calculation for Margin-Taxed Products
Calculating marginal schema may initially seem complex, but Moderi makes it simple. Here's an example:
Product: Sauna Experience
Purchase Price: €100
Selling Price: €150
Calculation:
Profit Margin: €150 (selling price) - €100 (purchase price) = €50.
Taxable Margin: €50 × 25.5% = €12.75 VAT.
The purchase price (€100) is subject to 0% VAT.
Thus, the receipt and invoice show the following breakdown:
a. Selling Price: €150
b. VAT (25.5%): €12.75
c. 0% VAT Share: €100
2. Improvement in invoicing for non-invoiced products
We have added a "invoicing" tab to the reservation preview window in Moder.
From this tab, you can invoice additional services, for example, after the accommodation portion has already been invoiced and the customer decides to order extra services.
In the example, we have previously invoiced the reserved additional services + accommodation
1. Open the reservation and add the desired additional services.
2. Save and update the price.
3. Go to the "invoicing" tab.
You will see the invoiced portion, as well as the non-invoiced and subsequently added additional services.
NOTE! If you add reservations via MultiBook to a reservation group that already has invoices (i.e., some products have been paid), you should not or must not create an invoice from MultiBook. We recommend disabling the "Create Invoice" option before performing the check-out in MultiBook.
3. Background improvements have been made to the cleaning list and weekly view to enable faster loading.
4. Regarding Google Maps location:
Previously, if you set a product's location in the Google Maps field in settings, it returned the address instead of the exact location (latlng).
Due to this, some of our customers had incorrect locations displayed in the map embed on the webshop product page.
Even if the Google Maps location is removed from the product settings, the webshop uses the product's normal street address field as a fallback location for the map embed, and the issue persists.
Change made:
Show the Google Maps embed on the webshop product page only if the Google Maps location is explicitly set in the product settings.
5. For our Norwegian customers using Moder, "kr" has been replaced with "NOK" in reservations and reports.
6. The word "tervetuloa" has been removed from the text message template
in Moder’s scheduled messages section (it only says "welcome" now). It was already removed from the actual text message previously, but now it has also been removed from the template to avoid confusion. The text message template is the same for all customers.
Fixes:
1. Fixed a bug where Partner Moder's items were temporarily unavailable for booking in Destination Moder's webshop.
2. Fixed a bug where a user with an owner account received an error 500 message when making a reservation, even though the reservation was actually processed successfully.
Now reservations can once again be made normally via the 'new reservation' button in the upper right corner of Moder."
