This support article covers all aspects of editing bookings in Moder - from updating the guest’s personal details and changing the booking dates, to adding extra services and modifying daily prices. 

Editing a booking.

You can open the booking edit view by clicking the Edit button in the booking preview.

The edit view is divided into two tabs: Booking and Products.

Key features:

• Edit guest information
• Select room type and specific room
• Change the length of the booking period
• Edit and add additional services

This tab contains the key details of the booking. 

Booking tab

Here you'll find and manage the essential details of the booking.

Guest information

You can update the guest’s contact details.

Dates

You can shift the booking dates or extend its duration.

Product

You can change the product (e.g. room type) or move the booking to a different room.
Room changes can also be done directly via the booking calendar.

Other details

You can edit check-in and check-out times, update the number of guests, and add internal notes to the booking.

Total price

You can change the VAT rate for the booking and choose to hide the price from the guest in the GuestApp.

This tab contains the key details of the products.

Products tab

The Products tab lists all sold items by day – including accommodation, extra services, and included services.

Daily grouping of products

The view shows each day of the booking and displays all services sold for that day. You can expand a specific day to see its detailed products.

Editing products

Click a product row to edit it – you can change the price, quantity, or set a specific time for an additional service.

Adding extra services to a booking

Choose whether to add optional or included services, then select the service from the dropdown menu.

Advanced options for extra services

For each extra service (under Products → Extra Services), you can specify whether it should be applied to the arrival day, departure day, or stayover days.

Editing a single product.

You can easily edit the details of an individual product by clicking it open. 

Editing a product

When you click a product open, a new window appears where you can define the date, quantity, price, and VAT rate for the product.

Custom name for extra service

You can rename an additional service for a specific booking as needed.

Setting time

You can set a start and end time for the additional service.

Notes

You can add extra notes to the additional service.
Example for a parking service: License plate XXR-112.

Where are these details used?

The product name, notes, and time settings are shown in various views where additional services are managed.

Automatic price update in case of changes. 

When a booking is moved to a new date where the daily price has changed or the duration of the booking is modified, Moder suggests a price update in the edit view.

When changes are made to a booking that affect its price based on pricing rules, Moder notifies you in a banner.

Extending the booking
Moder shows the new price according to the pricing list when you add days to the booking. You can accept or reject the changes.

Changing the booking dates
If you move the booking to dates with higher or lower pricing than the original, Moder will notify you and ask whether the price should be updated.

Changing roomyype
If you move the booking to a different room type, such as a more expensive one, Moder suggests a price update based on the new room type's pricing.
