Moder Basic POS: How to get started

Moder POS is a point-of-sale solution directly integrated into Moder, allowing you to easily sell products and services anywhere at your property – whether it’s a restaurant, reception, spa, activity venue or equipment rental operation, all sales and charges are handled directly in Moder.

A separate sales presentation is not needed, as the video gives you an overview of how the POS solution works.

What can you do with Moder POS?

  • Sell all your products: additional services, rentals, spa services, and food and beverages.

  • Charge directly to the customer’s bill: room, table, meeting room, or group bill.

  • Use the POS on any device: phone, tablet, or computer.

  • Create sales point-specific order views for fast and easy sales.

  • Use the same products and prices in the POS, online store, and reporting.

  • Accept card payments with a compatible Stripe payment terminal.

  • Split payments between people or different payment methods.

  • Print receipts and kitchen tickets with compatible Epson printers.

Availability in different countries

Moder POS is available in Finland, Estonia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Availability in Sweden and Norway is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

POS devices and compatibility

Moder Basic POS runs in a browser, so you can use it on a phone, tablet, or computer.

Compatible Stripe payment terminals:

  • Stripe Reader S710

  • Stripe Reader S700

  • Stripe Verifone P630

  • BBPOS WisePad 3

The availability of payment terminals depends on the country and Stripe Terminal support.

Receipt and kitchen printers:

  • Epson TM-m30III series, Wi-Fi model

  • 80 mm receipt paper

The printer must support Epson Server Direct Print and use a Wi-Fi network connected to the internet. USB and Bluetooth connections are not supported.

Using an older payment terminal?

If you are using an older Stripe payment terminal, such as WisePOS E, or want to verify the compatibility of your devices, contact support@moder.fi.

How to get started

  1. Watch the Moder POS introduction video and learn about the features.

  2. Review the hardware requirements.

  3. Contact Moder support when you want to order POS for your use.

  4. You will receive instructions by email for ordering the POS devices, add-on contract, instructions for configuring and using the POS, and, if desired, an invitation to a short onboarding session.

  5. Ready! The POS is ready for you to use.
