28.9.2026 New settings for door code message delivery
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Following recent changes by Expedia and now Booking.com, we are updating Moder’s scheduled SMS message settings. With these new options, sending door codes to guests will be more flexible, even when a reservation does not include a phone number.
The following changes have now been made to door code delivery in Moder:
Choose how door code messages are delivered
Scheduled SMS messages now have a new settings that allows you to choose the delivery method:
E-mail – if the booking does not have a phone number, the message will be sent separately by email (providing that the booking has a valid e-mail address)
No alternative delivery – Moder sends an SMS if the booking has a valid phone number, but does not send an email if the phone number is missing from the booking

With this update, E-mail has been set as the default option for all our customers. This ensures that if a phone number is missing from the booking, the door code will be sent to the customer by email.
